ZMINA:Resilience Capcity Building Training | Green Culture series

We are excited to launch the next chapter of our Capacity Building programme – the Green Culture series. In an era of climate change, ecology in culture is no longer just a choice, but a necessity. This series is designed to help us redefine our artistic and management practices toward sustainability, fairness, and responsibility to the planet.

The concept of green mobility is often reduced to a simple choice of transport. However, the real challenge runs much deeper. We often overlook how the pressure to be „green“ can unintentionally exacerbate inequalities in access to culture between different contexts in Europe. Is it possible to travel for the arts sustainably and fairly at the same time?

This training session invites you to rethink established patterns of cultural mobility. Marie Le Sourd from On the Move’s network will guide you through both theoretical dilemmas and practical solutions. Instead of offering one-size-fits-all templates, this session provides a platform for sharing your own questions and ideas, while equipping you with concrete tools and practices tailored to the reality of your organisation.

Trainer: Marie Le Sourd
Marie Le Sourd has been the Secretary General of On the Move since 2012, the international network for cultural mobility information and advocacy. With over 20 years of experience (including over a decade in Southeast Asia leading cultural departments and centres), she has been promoting fairer mobility patterns, including those with a climate justice approach. Marie is a dedicated advocate for the rights and conditions of mobile artists  and cultural professionals. She was elected to the Board of Culture Action Europe in 2025 and is a member of the Editorial Board for the 2026 UNESCO Re|Shaping Policies for Creativity Report.

Key takeaways:

  • A holistic approach: looking at green mobility beyond transport, within the broader context of the arts and cultural sector.
  • Facilitated access to tools, guides and funding opportunities on the subject that can be applied to one’s practice.
  • Stronger arguments for defending mobility, depending on your specific context, reality, and needs.

The training session will be held in English.

Wednesday, 13 May | 13:00 – 15:00 CEST
